Poverty. A word that has haunted the world for years. Poverty is know to one of the most pressing issues of today. Its a known fact that almost half of the world lives on $2.50 a day not only this but roughly one billion children live in poverty. Although the we have driven these numbers down substantially, the question arises. Will poverty ever be eradicated permanently? Poverty may seem like just a word when you look at it, but it actually describes more than just a lack of income. Poverty is malnutrition, starvation, and lack of education. poverty is known to be one of the most compelling multidimensional issues in the world. Throughout the timeline of history poverty has always haunted the world. In China the figure is 678 million. Indiaââ¬â¢s poor poverty-reduction rate is matched by rapid increases in income inequality.â⬠] With this we can see that India is far behind in the fight against poverty. In addition, in most of the growing and developing countries, there has been constant increase in Urban population, while this may appear to be ben eficial to India, it hurts them tremendously. According to Indiaââ¬â¢s population report [ââ¬Å"Over the last four decades from 1971 to 2001, the population of India has increased from 108.9 million in 1971 to 180.6 million in 2001.â⬠] in result of the rapid population growth. According to the World Development Report, [ââ¬Å"The number of unproductive consumers is increasing in India. Unproductive consumers are those who are not employed but they do consume. They include children below the age of 15 years and old persons who are above the age of 60 years. It is not that all children and old persons are not employed.â⬠] with all of these factors it isn t hard to see that employment is the next issue at hand. there is now where for these people to work. With the urban population the people of India can t keep their heads above water, the labor jobs that they are subjected to working pay little to
